The Grange is situated in Ellesmere, Shropshire, part of the beautiful north Shropshire lake district. A much loved centre for many years, the Grange provides a quiet and beautiful place for people to meet.
Residential weekends are held throughout the year from March to October. These are also available to non-residents. For the full listing of weekends that are open to everyone please refer to our 2013 Programme. If you would like to receive our emailed newsletter, please click here.
Private groups may also book the Grange as a venue if there is availability. We prefer such groups to have an interest in our focus areas of women in the second half of life or/ and traditional crafts. We have thirteen bedrooms accommodating up to a maximum of 22 people (although optimum capacity is nearer 16). These are comfortable, warm and light, mostly with en-suite bathrooms. There is a large meeting room (approx. 20’ x 20’), a lounge and a library, all of which can be used for group meetings. A minimum booking requirement is for ten people over two days (the Grange is booked exclusively for one group at a time). Rates are available on a per person per day basis and include all food. Please contact us for further information.
Volunteering / work opportunities. We occasionally require additional seasonal help in the gardens and house. If you live locally and are interested in working with us, please get in touch. (We regret we are unable to offer board and lodging.)
Originally a family country house, the Grange is still privately owned and maintains the feel of a welcoming home. We are committed to maintaining this ambience whilst at the same time ensuring that standards of comfort and food quality meet, and often exceed, the expectations of those who stay here.
